Piqqem is a New Way to Analyze Stocks
While attending a livestock fair in England in 1906, the brilliant mathematician Sir Francis Galton found what he considered to be an intriguing contest. Attendees to the fair were invited to guess the weight of an ox on display. Nearly 800 people made guesses and no one hit the exact mark -- not even the livestock experts participating in the contest. Surprisingly, the mathematical average of the guesses was only one pound off the correct weight.
This experiment became the classic example of how the Wisdom of Crowds can work. When large numbers of people guess on a specific, defined outcome, the average of their answers tends to be highly accurate -- significantly more accurate even than the answers provided by experts with decades of experience. Piqqem believes the Wisdom of Crowds applies to stock market, that guessing the weight of a hog is no different than guessing the future price of HOG (the ticker symbol for Harley-Davidson). At Piqqem.com (and on Piqqem widgets), you can access innovative graphical interfaces to make stock predictions on your favorite public equities. You can even make predictions on companies you don't know much about. (In fact, these types of votes are also critical to the success of Wisdom of Crowds predictions.)
Behind the scenes Piqqem captures your predictions and adds them to the global Piqqem sentiment pool. Piqqem then uses enhanced visualization tools to display the aggregate results of all voter predictions. This allows everyone to see what 'the crowd' thinks about particular stocks. For registered users Piqqem also breaks down sentiment predictions to highlight predictive differences between distinct demographic groups (i.e. software engineers, younger users, users living in the West). Piqqem's sophisticated comparison and analysis tools also highlight trends such as rising sentiment and highest rated stocks.
Join Piqqem and you will participate in an online community of investors with shared interests. Through this participation you will gain access to an otherwise unavailable source of stock market opinion: the aggregate opinions of the Piqqem crowd.
