Apple vs. Google – Apple Winning Sentiment War

Ever wonder who’s really winning in the war of Apple (AAPL) vs. Google (GOOG)? If you look at the facts it is really quite confusing. Apple has a $221 Billion market cap, while Google’s market cap is still impressive at $158 Billion. Google has stronger gross margins of 63% with a net income as a percentage of revenue at 29.6%, while Apple has lower gross margins of 41.67% with a net income as a percentage of revenue at 22.77%. Apple is trading at 82% of it 52 week trading range, while Google is trading at 47% of its 52 week trading range.

I think that the iTablet and the iPhone should continue to do well. Although the prediction is that Apple will not move the iPhone to Verizon I think that both Apple and Verizon could benefit from this deal. In the short term (perhaps the next month) I think the price is heading down. However, if a uptick in capital investment actually materializes, Apple is probably well positioned to take advantage.

I believe that the stock is due for a price correction. The success of the i-Pad remains a mystery, I don't think even Jobs knows who is his the target market for i-Pad. Nonetheless there hype IS a temporarily hype but I expect the a more fundamental price of about $215-$220.

Only Netflix knows their actual results, but current sentiment points to the rental giant delivering lackluster news on Wednesday.

I think it's probably WORTH $300, but I'm not sure I see it getting there in the next 6 months.
